The BASK Approach

Do you work in a stressful and demanding workplace characterized by multiple daily deadlines, several bosses demanding work simultaneously, and competitive co-workers?

You might be experiencing:

  • Feelings of stress and overwhelm.
  • Trouble focusing on the task at hand.
  • Multiple deadlines, but feeling frozen.
  • Creating work product that is rushed and sloppy.
  • Health issues (lack of sleep, medical problems).
  • No personal time with family and friends.

BASK Coaching can help.

The BASK Approach: Four Pertinent Topics

You are busy. You want concise, concentrated coaching sessions that focus on the particular subjects you are struggling with. The following programs help give you the tools and strategies to take control of that particular topic in only 5 sessions each:

  • Staying Focused in Chaos - Learn how to concentrate on the task at hand despite what is going on around you.
  • Conflict Management 101 - Learn your conflict style and how to work through conflicts with just about anyone.
  • Time Machine Mastery - Organize your workflow efficiently using prioritization strategies.
  • Reversing Burnout (7 sessions) - Discover how you can be motivated at work again, even when you think you can't do it anymore.

Each subject can be taken on its own as a focused experience, depending on your unique needs and goals. You can also choose to take more than one or combine them. The topics and integrated sessions are described in more detail below.

Staying Focused in Chaos

With the constant work thrown at you from all directions, it is no wonder that it is hard to concentrate on one task. This session is designed to help you accomplish this. You will discover how to:

  1. Observe your scattered thoughts and learn to take control of them through conscious choice.
  2. Develop strategies to stay focused, regardless of what is happening around you in the office.

Imagine a busy workday where the work gets done easily with clarity and ease. When you take control of your overwhelming thoughts, you can create strategies to succeed.

Conflict Management 101

Conflict with another person at work is one of the biggest distractions to getting your work done. Whether it is your boss, co-worker, or someone outside of the office, it is difficult when you have conflicting views. In this session, you will:

  • Learn your own conflict style and how it affects your engagement with others.
  • Acknowledge the perspective of the other person (sorry, this is important).
  • Develop a strategy to resolve the conflict.

No matter how difficult the other person is, there are ways to resolve a disagreement at work.

Time Machine Mastery

Wouldn't it be nice if you had a time machine and could give yourself more time to get your work done? Unfortunately, they do not exist yet.  You don't need one. In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Observe your current obstacles with understanding.
  • Know your limits and set boundaries with your workflow.
  • Develop prioritization strategies that work for YOU.

The work will not stop coming, but you can develop strategies using your own strengths to make your workflow more manageable.

Reversing Burnout

Burnout is a deep, long-term state of mind that requires at least 7 sessions to negotiate. It is not a feeling that comes overnight, but has probably been smoldering for a while. You have reached a point where you don't want to be at the job anymore. In this session, we will:

  • Analyze the root of the burnout and when it started.
  • Develop actions you can take to reduce burnout.
  • Build sustainable resilience.
  • Look at all your options.

It is possible to reverse burnout, although it may sometimes feel hopeless. The package is designed so we can work together on the challenges to learn new perspectives and get your motivation back.

Multiple Topics

Let's say that you look at the list of topics and believe that more than one applies to you. You can combine the topics for a longer session at a reduced cost. Burnout is a deeper subject and should be taken on its own, so it will not be combined with other topics. The schedule would look like this:

  • One Topic - 5 sessions
  • Two Topics - 8 sessions
  • All Three Topics - 11 sessions
  • Reversing Burnout - 7 sessions

Of course, as we go through each topic and you feel more time is needed to embrace the concepts fully, we can add sessions. I will check in with you before our last session to determine how you feel about adding more. Pricing will be provided at the intro meeting.
